I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day!  Our class party was wonderful and I know the kids had a great time.  Thank you for all of my wonderful Valentine’s Day gifts.  They made me feel very special!!!

I wanted to let everyone know that I have added something new to our blog.  If you will look over to the left hand side of the blog and scroll down right underneath where it tells us of all the people viewing our blog, you will see a slide show of the pictures that I take throughout the day.  I absolutely love this because it is instant!  I take a picture and post it right then so you can see what your kiddo’s have been doing at school before they even get home.  At the end of the year I will post a link so you can download all the pictures to keep.

Please do not forget about early release tomorrow at 11:30!!!

February has been VERY busy!  We have been learning about Presidents, Valentine’s Day, Groundhog Day, Dental Health, time and fractions, contractions, antonyms, synonyms, homonyms, punctuation, (anybody getting tired yet???) story elements, along with all of our spelling words, and reviewing things we have already learned.  We made snow and discussed the water cycle and that water can be a solid, liquid, and a gas. (This really blew their minds.)

We will have a spelling test next Tuesday on the following words: no, make, than, first, been, its, who, now, people, and my.

We will really be adding items to our research center from here to the end of the year.  This means we will be doing a lot of Science projects and I will be asking for some crazy things.  The kids really love Science (not as much as their teacher) and I believe it is a way to get them really excited about learning and to take charge of their learning.

Kind of a random post but hope you guys enjoy the picture slideshow!!!  Have a great week.
