Poetry/Phonics – We are working on long and short vowel sounds.  We also have spent some time on rhyming words.  We are always reviewing our spelling words throughout any reading. 

Guided Reading – Testing is almost complete and we will be able to begin our guided reading groups.  Yeah!!!!  The students will begin bringing home new books every night starting next Monday.  We keep a book bag in our desks that allow us to re-visit books that have been read throughout the week to build our fluency.

Writing – We are still working on interactively writing about our student of the day.  We write then go over the editing process. (capital letters, periods, details and more details)

Math – We are working on addition sentences and word problems.

Science – The students are learning about the five senses this week and are creating different projects to go along with each sense.
